Pass USMCA Coalition Hosts “The Why and How of the USMCA” Trade Discussion

WASHINGTON (August 19) — Last week, the Pass USMCA Coalition, an alliance advocating for the clean and swift passage of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement, hosted a discussion on Capitol Hill with Georgetown University professor Marc Busch.

The event drew more than 50 attendees from Democratic and Republican offices in both the House and the Senate.

Busch, the author of Trade Warriors and co-host of TradeCraft, the popular bi-weekly podcast, focused his remarks on the merits of USMCA, paying particular attention to the trade agreement’s intellectual property provisions.

He also explained why the agreement will spur medical innovation in a recent op-ed for the Detroit News. And he explored this topic, in depth, on a recent episode of his TradeCraft podcast entitled, “Biologics & Trade: Getting USMCA Right.”

A lively question-and-answer session followed the remarks, giving Busch the opportunity to urge lawmakers to pass USMCA quickly.
